iPhones with 1.1.2 firmware cannot be unlocked with software update

Loading ...I have been getting quite a few mails asking why their newly bought iPhone isn’t getting unlocked.
This is because Apple had updated iPhones way back in Dec 2007 with a unbreakable firmware 1.1.2. Its not possible to downgrade the firmware either. Only a turbo sim can unlock these iPhones. To buy turbo sim look for “Turbo SIM” on Google.com
To check if your iPhone can be unlocked with just a software patch, check this:
- Check your iphone version
- Open Emergency Call menu
- Type *3001#12345#*
- Go to Versions tab - And look, what you have in your lovely Apple’s toy:
03.12.06_G – the 1.0.0 firmware
03.14.08_G – the 1.0.1 and 1.02 firmware
04.01.13_G – the 1.1.1 firmware
04.02.13_G- the 1.1.2 firmware (NO SOFTWARE UNLOCK AVAILABLE)
If your firmware is 4.02.13_G, you don’t have any other choice but to go the hardware way. Buy Turbo SIM and unlock it. With this unlock you will not able to enjoy any of the 3rd party apps from installer.app. SAD.

Hey Arun, when you bought your 3G, was it unlocked? If yes, you shouldnt have upgrade to 3.1 firmware. You do not have any choice by to wait for Dev Team to release a hack for 3.1 firmware. Once that happens you will be able to unlock your iPhone.

I could not open my iphone 3g now after update and neither view anything. Its asking for sim card which I dont have presently????kindly reply me on this. I am not sure of Turbo SIM hack, cos I havent done that. But a friend of mine got a 1.1.2 iphone just today and I plan to go the turbo sim way. I will keep you posted on this. Within a day or 2 you should hear from me. I stay in bangalore and if nothing happens, I am going to go a place here in bangalore, pay Rs.2500 and get it unlocked. That person has unlocked quite a few of iPhones in bangalore.

NOTES:
1. This version works only with 4.02.13_G baseband version and can be run on 1.0.2, 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken systems
* The only way your baseband will be 4.02.13_G while you’re running 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 is if you updated then downgraded firmware
2. If your iPhone came with 4.02.13_G (aka 1.1.2) OUT OF THE BOX then do NOT use this unlock yet.
* It hasn’t been tested with bootloaders other than BOOT03.09_M3S2
* Some very new U.K. iPhones come out of the box with BOOT04.06_M3S2.

I understand that this is one of the most knowledgeable resources on the iPhone and other apple products.
I have a few basic questions and hope you can guide me and take time out to reply
I have an iPhone (Ww48) so I am guessing this is 1.1.2. I also understand that the only unlock possible is by using a stealthsim / turbosim / nextsim / hypersim.
This is were my confusion is
1. Is it safe to use the USD 10 turbosim (made in HK)? Does the battery life reduce when we use this? or shall i go in for slightly expensive one like USD 40
2. When i jailbreak the 1.1.2, can i use the blue tooth headset, wifi and edge applications?
3. what do i need to do to permanently prevent an upgrade as i understand that if i upgrade the firmware, the phone may get bricked
4. Once i use the hardware unlock and jailbreak, is there a procedure to reverse this?

1.1.2 now unlock and working in india very fine with jailbreak 1.1.2.
just upgrade or downgrade to 1.1.2 and just open jailbreak 1.1.2 and it’s reboot couple of times and after you no need to intall any anysim or any other application to unlock sim..
Sim already unlock after jailbraek 1.1.2.
You need to download from install iworld in installer after jailbreak
