iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak to be released within this week - :)
Posted on 2008 under iPhone Duniya |Seems like we should be soon upgrading our jailbroken 1.1.1 iPhones to 1.1.3 firmware through a software-based method. iPhoneatlas.com has reported this in their blog this morning. Here are the details: We’ve received word that the a software-based jailbreak method for iPhone software/firmware 1.1.3 (enabling the installation of unofficial third-party applications) could be released as early as tonight or tomorrow. We previously reported on the existence of a hardware-based method and two software-based methods, one more straightforward than the other.
iPhone Atlas has now learned that one closely guarded, software-based jailbreak method will be reserved for release after Apple ships the official iPhone SDK, which the company is due to discuss (but not necessarily ship) sometime in February. The other method will be released much sooner. Both methods are described as “tedious,” but not significantly more so than the iPhone 1.1.2 jailbreak. Like previous methods, the 1.1.3 jailbreak will consist of a series of scripts and require some level of user interaction.
It has also been revealed that the iPhone toolchain (used to create unofficial native applications) will be updated for compliance with software/firmware 1.1.3. As such, applications re-compiled with the new toolchain will work properly under the new iteration.

Hi there,
This is Ganesh from India.
My problem is that i accidentally upgraded my iphone to 1.1.3 Now it has become simlocked.
I desperately need the unlock for my iphone.
i tried to downgrade it to 1.1.1 as given in one of your post:
http://iphoneindia.gyanin.com/tag/downgrade-113-firmware/
but it is not working…the firmware still remains same
Please somebody help me to unlock this phone.
my email id is ganeshavadhoot@gmail.com
thanks in advance
I too feel that its not possible to downgrade from 1.1.3, simply because Apple would have updated the modem firmware. With this update, it would be really difficult to downgrade it.
But Tuaw.com had a way to do it, which I had mentioned in my earlier post. But I wasn’t myself convinced that it would be possible.
I guess in another 1-2weeks these hackers would definitely hack the 1.1.3 update. There is so much being talked about. Check this out:
On iphone.unlock.no - Status on 1.1.3 jailbreak and unlock
1.1.3 was released on January 15th. Jailbreak solution was released on January 25th. Click here for jailbreak instructions and more info. Unlock is not released, but should not be necessary if you use the released jailbreak. DON’T upgrade to 1.1.3 using iTunes! 1.1.3 secpack is found, so if you accidently upgraded your OTB 1.1.1 or older it is possible to downgrade.
Here is something from cre.ations.net -
Well, the iPhone Dev Team has done it again. A working jailbreak for 1.1.3 is finally here.
STATEMENT OF RISK
As all upgrades are risky, this one is doubly so. You may have to restore your phone using iTunes and start again if it fails. Make sure to back up first!
Let’s continue
This jailbreak, like the 1.1.2 jailbreak, comes as an upgrade. This means you need to have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone already, before you can begin.
Update - unlocked phones appear to remain unlocked and work properly after the update, according to scattered reports.
MAC VERSION - Download the 1.1.3 package maker and open it, then run Run_This. Read carefully, press Enter when necessary, and the image will be uploaded to your phone.
Here’s how you do it:
- Start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone with Installer.app installed.
- Plug in your phone via USB to your computer.
- Download, extract, and run iBrickr Special 1.1.3 jailbreak edition (ibrickr.exe in the archive).
- iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.
- iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly).
- iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.
- When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the “1.1.3 soft upgrade” package. Do that.
- When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware.om Apple.
