Loading ...I was looking for an convincing answer for this very question and finally found it on ModMyFone. Let me pull that thread instead of writing my own version

Pawage is excellent tool specially for mac users like me. I did for my sisters new 16gb 1.1.4 OTB too.
You can also just use boot neuter iphone application and set correct permissions for it through ssh and upgrade only your base band and boot loader without using pawnage.
I have literally become an expert in restoring and Jl,Unlocking
Now my iphone is tweaked to the maximum without any single problem with all apps working wonderful even customize.
I am very contented with it now.
