Fring is now on iPhone - Skype/SIP(VoIP) calls via WIFI; Gtalk, ICQ, Yahoo, AOL and MSN all under one app :)
Posted on 2008 under Native Apps |Yes, this is something I have been waiting for from the day I moved from my iPaq PDA to iPhone. Wanted Fring to produce a iPhone native app. I have been using Fring from last 1 years now and just loved it. I could make skype calls, use my SIP(VoIP) if needed, had all my IP messengers Gtalk, ICQ, Yahoo, AOL and MSN under one app. And now we have Fring on iPhone.
Installed it last night and man this rocks, I have just fallen in love with this app. It has everything. I called up my friend in US using skpye in fring and it worked like a charm(The app crashed a few times though).
This stuff is just awesome. And the best thing about this app, it works in the background. So even if I close the app and move on to use some other app, fring still continues. ANd when there is a message or a call, it starts ringing
Amazing.
By the way, Fring is an Israeli startup that offers VOIP & Chat service for mobile phone. Click here for the press release.
A pre-release version of fring for the iPhone available from www.fring.com/iphone
How to Install?
1. Add http://fring.com/iphone.xml to the source list under installer.app (JB iPhones only)
2. Go to Install under installer.app and hit ‘fring’ tab. Install it and enjoy this wonderful native app
