Ok,Fine.

Hi, Babu
24000 is unsubsidized version , so no monthly commitment
Hi Srikanth,
Thanks for Reply & Info, but I want to now :
1. It is including of all taxes.
2. We want use only Vodafone sim or any other sim also ?
Hi Babu,
I dont have any idea about taxes !But one thing is confirmed that there will be no monthly commitment in INDIA.
If u buy it from Vodaphone, then u have to use Vodaphone Sim and Same with Airtel.
I did call up the Vodaphone and Airtel customer care but none of them know the exact price of Iphone.
Hi Srikanth,
Thanks for Info,
I’m also calling to Airtel,Vodafone & Apple customer care none of them giving date or price,And i want now we can use X Aritel sim to new 3G apple iphone Or we want to buy new sim card ?

Hey SSS… You dont have to buy a new SIM. you can use your existing SIM with new iPhone 3G. Since its expected to be sold for 24k, you wont even have to change your present voice plan.
Hi Guys,
Here is the what i understand. I’m a apple products user for 13 yrs. Here’s the business model of Apple.
-> iPhone will be sold in India for higher price. Because what Airtel say India business . Its not possible to give for less. Because of no incoming charges as western telecoms do.
-> Now, Even if you buy a iPhone for 24k. The tariff will be higher than the normal plans. Because 20 to 30% of the you montly bill charges goes to Apple. So, Actually this is kind of premium phone. So, you will ending up paying bit more than normal.
If you have problem with the higher tariff charges. u need to unlock the phone and use your existing SIM and current plan.
You can get iphone 3G unlocked right now in Bangalore grey market. But its pretty expensive 40k. Prices may drop depending on the price by Vodafone and Airtel.
There will be no monthly commitment with this price. Its going to buy for forget pricing. Thats what is unsecured iPhone price would mean.
Is it the final prices, or there is any possiblity for the change?
Is it including applicable Taxes?
Will it support.. all the features like conferencing, GPRS etc..
Please confirm.
Thanks
Nitin Kohli
Hey Nitin,
I dont think the prices are confirmed. it might vary for the plans that you would opt. But yeah it certainly has GPRS as 2G infrastructure supports it. We dont hace 3G infrastracture in India yet. Video conferencing / streaming is not available yet.
Regards,
A
great.. Thanks Anant..
Any confirmation…. or any datasheet available, which supports this statement…
Regds
Nitin kohli
Nitin,
http://www.apple.com/iphone will have the specs of 3G.
Since we dont have 3G infrastructure in india u will not have video streaming conferencing. However, with GPRS (available curently on 2G) u still can access WAP enabled sites but that might cost you a bomb of money
Regards,
A
Thanks Nitin, just to add some more info to this. Airtel and Vodafone are going to offer EDGE over iPhone 3G in India. GPRS is slower than EDGE. And with EDGE and/or GPRS, one can access regular websites as well. Just that the speed would differ when compared to 3G. Airtel offers unlimited EDGE for Rs.560/mo. I guess vodafone monthly internet surfing is around the same price band. So things might just be right for iPhone users in India…
thanks Anant..
[...] IPHONE 3G releasing: Vodafone will be the first, Date Confirmed.. Zee Business confirms 22nd Aug as the launch date for iPhone 3G in India - Price Rs.24,000 ($570) | … [...]
Still remains the question whether it will be a locked or unlocked version
Its going to be locked to Vodafone.Apple will not allow iPhones 3G to be sold without any service provider. If you buy from Airtel, it will be locked to airtel. To use it with any other service provider, you will have unlock it.
Techtree has it that it will be launched on 18th, zee says that it will be launched on 22nd. I am confused and have 2 questions:
1. Did you check the zee coverage because I am unable to find anything on the zee business website or on the zee news yesterday.
2. When would Vodafone/Apple offficially announce the launch dates?
Hey Devanjan, I dint watch that show on Zee Business. Gaurav who is a member of this blog watched it and had informed me. His news has been authentic from past. And that’s the reason I added this as a posting.
Don’t know by when vodafone would officially announce the launch.
Devanjan, Gaurav has sent a reply to your comment back to iPhoneIndiaBlog with screenshots of ZeeNews coverage on iPhone 3G in India. This is just great. Thanks Gaurav for this piece on information.
Over to Gaurav

I ll soon give you some official announcement upon this topic from apple side. For now i think the above images are enough to believe by our blog readers that what i informed you has a base.

Hey Gaurav,
I was not doubting on your comments but then with so much of rumours around the launch across the net it actually puts every new info into the circle of doubts. And specially when Vodafone/Airtel/Apple are totally mumb over the issue. They are not even opening up with the date of the next announcement which is more frustrating.
True Devanjan, So many people have already called airtel/vodafone and haven’t been able to get any kind of info. Its Apple’s strategy not to reveal any info before the actual launch. And airtel/vodafone are just following the instructions from Apple.
Lets wait till 22nd Aug.

iphone coming to india , thats good to hear , but 570$
its only 200$ in USA
Hey GSR, $199 carries lots of hidden cost. You can only buy iphone for $199 if you commit for 2year contract from AT&T. If you break it, you will have to shell out another $300+ for misc. charges.

Friends, Some more rumours on iPhone 3G expected launch price. Vodafone might launch 8GB for Rs.15,960 on 22nd August.
i would like to know that when is the pricing plan gonna be released …
hey guys just spoken to customer care representative dealing with the iphone 3g section and told me the price of the iphone 3g will be around 10k’s-12k’s +3 year contract with it
Thanks for this info Kanwar. Its going to be sad if Airtel asks for 3year lock in contract. Lets hope for the best. I did try calling up Airtel CSupport, but these guys are not revealing anything at all.
More Rumours: IPhone will cost Rs. 15,000/- with a Rs. 750 pm starting plan for postpaid customers for 2 years contract…
just for info sake ..let me know when official pricing plans are released by the both companies
Hey
Indiatimes say that the 8GB model is at 31K and the 16 GB model at 35-36K. Generally this website is known for reliable info. Dev, you have any info?

Hi all,
Its gr8 to hear from all of you about Iphone 3G.I am excited about its launch in India and
waiting for the price list of both,8Gb and 16Gb.I have one question for you friends,if i use wifi

so called browsing charges?
Do let me know about this.

Hey Neal, if you are using WIFI at home or anywhere else, you wouldn’t be charged by airtel/voda. But if you use Edge/GPRS on iPhone you would be charged by a service provider.
