Did you know that there is this bug in iPhone which lets unauthorised users access data held in iPhone that has been protected using a passcode. Isn’t this strange. Try this:

From Macworld UK - All anyone need to in order to access content held on a passcode-protected iPhone is to hit the ‘emergency calls’ button, and then hit the Home button rapidly twice when they will be automatically transported to a users ‘Favorites’ folder (by default).

What can this bug do? This can provide a miscreant with access to the contacts, email and web browser, if any of the contacts have email addresses or websites associated with them, the trick also allows access to the iPhone’s email application and Safari browser, respectively.

Now, if you really want to get out of this issue and save your iPhone, follow this:

iPhone users need simply visit Settings/General/Home Button on the iPhone, then select Home. The emergency call bypass then cannot access Favorites - the default on the iPhone for a double-tap; instead, the passcode screen simply reappears.

[ Thanks Macworld UKfor sharing this]

About Me

Hi, I have been using this awesome invention called iPhone in Bangalore, India from November 2007 and have gone nutzzz over this.
Nuts to an extent that I have started my own blog on iPhone. I will be covering various developments happening around Apple iPhone. Will cover everything and anything which is even remotely connected to the iPhone. But will put more emphasis on iPhone news and buzz from an Indian perspective.
