Google demoed another interesting GMail app concept for iPhone, last evening. An offline-capable webapp for the iPhone 3G which allows full access to GMail even while the handset is in airplane mode.

offline gmail Google will soon bring Offline GMail to iPhone Use Gmail in Airplane Mode

This news was reported by TechCrunch:

Google’s VP of Engineering, Vic Gundotra says that the app is dependant on HTML5’s AppCache and Database standards, so developers need only code one application for multiple platforms with a GUI that’s identical for all. I’m not familiar with HTML5, but I guess the application will store not only the user data but also the software. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The date of release hasnt been spelt out by Google.
