If You Are Looking For A Netbook, Try An iPhone – Tim Cook
Posted on 2009 under iPhone Duniya | 1 Comment
The Netbook market is exploding around the world, and its strange that Apple doesn’t have a Netbook to offer. When asked, Tim Cook, Apple’s current COO had this to say:
“This is not something we would put the Mac brand on”. He believes that if people want a small, very portable computer, they should perhaps look at the iPhone or iPod touch. That comment will likely make a lot of people annoyed, but if you think about it, with the increasing numbers of things that those devices can do (and will be able to do with the upcoming 3.0 software), it’s not an entirely ridiculous thing to say.
This comes after Apple beat the recession by posting a 15% jump in quarter to quarter profits, thanks to huge sales of iPhone last quarter. Check Apple results here.

I have been a Mac owner (and convert from the Windows platform) for 3 years now… and recently gave up my Blackberry for an iPhone.
I agree with Tim Cook’s comment. The iPhone is very capable of handling the day-to-day activities you’d expect from a Netbook, especially if it is equipped with the new v3.0 OS software on the horizon.
I recall reading a blog post recently where some large city’s police force is issuing officers iPhones with external keyboards, instead of windows PCs.
I certainly think there’s good logic in that.
