I have been waiting for this very feature in my iPhone safari browser – ‘Would you like to save this password’. Too cool. Earlier I had to enter my user name and password every time I accessed my member area on any website. This was tedious process. And now with 3.0, its just a matter of activating Auto-fill feature in Settings :)

This feature is now available in iPhone 3.0 – Auto Fill Usernames/Passwords. By creating a contact for yourself, the iPhone can automatically fill out any registration form with the credentials you enter. It can also auto-fill username and passwords based on what you previously entered into that site.

To activate this feature you need to – Go to Settings > Safari > Auto-fill and then choose the contact you created for yourself.

I agree. This does not work. The first thing I did was track down the switch and turn it on, but to my dismay autofill does not work.

Autofill is always greyed out even though I turned it on. I know that the sites do not have any special code preventing login saving, because it works on Firefox and IE. I also tested it on some of my own sites — no joy.

I do not have a contact to auto-fill forms because I seed all forms and email addresses with information that will identify any sites that abuse my contact information.

May sure that you have auto-fill and remember username & password on.

            Go to – Settings > Safari > Auto-fill

The thing that is supposed to come up and say “save password?” never comes up for me. Does anyone know why?
