That is ‘Fleet Air Superiority Training!’ for you.
Or Fantastic, awesome, stupendous, terrific game as described by ‘Pocket Gamer’.

To say, that FAST is a flight simulator will be wrong. Rather its a ‘air combat flight simulation’ program in which you are thrown in training skirmishes against simulated pilots to learn flying and dogfighting skills & trying to shoot down the enemy pilots.
FAST on iPhone is what the popular game franchise ‘Ace Combat’ was/is for playstation.
When you start the game, you will notice that there are no fancy start up intros except for a brief shot of a plane zooming past your screen with a blazing missile in hot prusuite. No fancy cutshots and no story. Instead you are straightway thrown in the midst of the action. There are total of 30 missions of increasing difficulty from novice to insane. You can choose from a wide variety of planes like F-4, F-15, F-16, Eurofighter 2000, F-22, though initially only 3 planes are available and about 10 unlock able planes, which become available as the game progresses. In the single player mode missions are actually training exercises in which you have to locate and blast your enemy out of the sky.Starting a mission means you are immediately thrown in to a aerial combat scenario with the enemy fighter closing in on to you. Your aim is to destroy the enemy fighters all the while trying to survive yourself , dodging the incoming missiles over variety of ground elements like windswept tundra plains to verdant, volcanic island seascapes. This may sound repetetive, but trust me its not. As more and more planes become available, you will find that each plane handles and maneuvers differently and in order to survive different tactics are required. Your combat arsenal includes radar guided and heat seeking missiles for long-range attack, 20mm miniguns for close-range dog fighting, and flares for dodging in-bound enemy missiles.
Controls are straightforward and simple. Flying & maneuvering is accelerometer based and is handles surprisingly well. Then you have onscreen buttons taking care of firing missiles, accelerating, braking and changing the viewing angle.

Easily one of the most impressive games that look so gorgeous on iPhone — detailed real life aircraft models , 3D clouds, a feeling of soaring heights, reflecting sunlight from the ocean below, realistic explosions, lingering vapour trails in the air — simply Gorgeous.
Well, now to main attraction of the Game. Yup there is more-
The main attraction of the game is theWifi online multiplayer mode. You have the option of 1 is to 1, 2:2 dogfights. Believe you me, the experience is simply exhilarating and satisfying – blasting someone outa the sky is so cool. And wifi gameplay is smooth without any dropouts. And if you get a worthy opponent – its so much fun, why I got some tintin guy who was like a ace pilot and I was like diving and dodging only just to get him off my tail. But finally made a debris out of his plane. You can even create private rooms to dogfight with your friends or you can have a blast playing over bluetooth. Your online fight story gets published to your facebook account once you grant permission to the app.
My Verdict: Outstanding Game. Initially be patient with the game as you learn the controls and handling of your plane. If you can afford the price tag of $ 3.99 , go for it.
