Apple released iPhone OS 3.1 (build 7C97d) and iPhone SDK 3.1 (build 9M2736a) last evening to developers – iPhone Developer Connection.
iPhone related blogs have started sharing list of feature enhancements that might come with this 3.1 firmware version:
- Mobile iTunes is now buggy on some devices. If you use your device for media listening/viewing, wait for another release.
- MMS is enabled by default now, but still doesn’t work properly on AT&T without some tweaks
- Tethering still works via the hack
- Major update to the baseband 05.08.01 (fewer dropped calls?). For SIM unlockers, you’ll want to skip
- Startup/Shutdown times improved. Also opening/closing applications
- Bluetooth AVRCP profiles still not supported
- When entering email addresses, iPhone recognizes Google sync contacts
- Some 3GS owner/developers notice that they don’t have to put their device in the device list for their iPhones to be activated under 3.1

- Voice Control is finally working over bluetooth now!
- When you move your icons around the iPhone vibrates
