Yesterday, Paid Content announced that iPhone readers of WSJ will now be charged $2 per week for reading news on their iPhone. This is no good, as I have been a big fan of WSJ as well. Move on WSJ iPhone app, I will now have to rely on Bloomberg app to follow finance news. This $2 per week charge will come into effect in few more months from now. Its not just WJS, Even Hulu viewers in the US might have to opt for pay-per-view or the subscription model in coming months. More on this from TUAW:

There’s bad news for Hulu lovers as well. Murdoch also said News Corp is considering either a pay-per-view or subscription model for Hulu. “No final decision has been made,” Murdoch said via Webcast at an investor conference today. The WSJ itself reports that subscription offerings will roll out for media content before the end of the year, though it was made in a different context from the Hulu statement.
