Google Brings Visual Search App ‘Google Goggles’ To Android – Where Is The iPhone Version?
Posted on 2009 under iPhone Duniya | 1 Comment
Today Google launched a breakthrough app called the ‘Google Goggles’. Google Goggles is the first real-time search app and has been added to Google Labs as an experimental application for Android devices that support visual search. Sad, that the iPhone version wasn’t simultaneously launched by Google. Looks like Google plans to push more of its apps on Android as there is no issues or fears of getting rejected. Lately Apple has major issues with Google apps such as Google Voice.
Coming back to this breakthrough app, here is how it works. You need to just open the app, take a photo and Google will process the image and return search results. This function eliminates the need to type or say anything on the mobile phone.
Check this demo video:
Google Goggles is a visual search app for Android phones. Instead of using words, take a picture of an object with your camera phone: we attempt to recognize the object, and return relevant search results. Goggles also provides information about businesses near you by displaying their names directly in the camera preview.
