This is news; Prior to Google’s Admob acquisition, Apple was in serious talks with Admob for a possible buy out. And Google won that bid eventually. And now an article on The Wall Street Journal indicates that Google was in serious negotiation with Lala Media for a possible acquisition right before Apple won the bid. Looks like Apple and Google are getting more and more competitive of late.
Google was in serious discussions to acquire online-music company La La Media Inc. before Apple won the deal this month for $85 million, people familiar with the matter said.
Apple also pursued a deal for mobile-advertising company AdMob Inc. say people familiar with the matter; Google agreed to buy the start-up in November for $750 million.
