Another iPhone Credit Card Reader to be launched – This time from Mophie

After Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey talked about a new iPhone accessory called the ‘Square‘ iPhone Payment System that could turn your iPhone into a cool credit card reader, it was the turn of VeriFone which announced PAYware Mobile, a combination of iPhone and iPod touch app that would accept credit card payment via a swipe card reader that is is attached to the iPhone or iPod touch. I had covered the story earlier this month titled ‘Want To Accept Credit Card Payments On Your iPhone? You Now Have 2 Options – Square & PAYware‘.

And now there is another player entering this iPhone credit card reader space. Known primarily for their battery packs and cases, Mophie is going to enter a whole new market; the credit card readers for the iPhone. TechCrunch covered this interesting article. Here is what Mophie had to say:

Marking its first combination hardware and private label iPhone application device, mophie is launching its innovative new credit card reader, empowering users to complete financial transactions on the go.

Looks like this iPhone credit card reader space is going explode very soon.
