After Rolando’s success, ngmoco has come up with version 2 and its called “Rolando 2 Quest for the Golden Orchid” [$9.99 - App Store]. New gameplay includes a 3D stylized world, driving, swimming, and flying, and — now the Rolandos can fight back too. Awesome. I was bowled over by Rolando and I am going to wait for Rolando 2 to go down on the price. I seriously think $9.99 is too much for this game. But thats just my opinion. I know quite a few who believe Rolando is definitely worth $10+.

Over to the official video from ngmoco. In this video, Simon introduces push challenges in the upcoming Rolando 2. Also, a sneak peek at the last area in Rolando 2: Stormtop Mountain!

An iPhone Exercise App That Can Control iPod Music - Fitnio

This cool fitness app called Fitnio is somewhat similar to RunKeeper app, helps you track your workout progress both in the gym and outdoors. But it comes with one cool feature allowing you to browse your iPod playlists and queue one for the next time you start jogging. TechCrunch covered this app and had this to say:

Until the release of the iPhone 3.0 software update, developers were unable to access the phone’s music library. In order to play music as you ran, you’d have to first open up the phone’s iPod application, pick a playlist, then switch over to the excercise app. Once there, you could use your headphone’s multifunction button to execute some basic commands (next song, pause, and previous song), but if you wanted to switch playlists you were out of luck.

Fitnio - $1.99 [App Store]

Fitnio displays the same data as a treadmill or stationary bike … outside the gym! Now you can run, walk, jog or cycle anywhere! Fitnio integrates with the iPhone’s GPS technology to give you real-time, accurate fitness feedback. Fitnio automatically calculates and displays your distance, speed, pace and calories burned. Start and stop immediately with Fitnio’s quick start and cool down options. Program an emergency contact so you’re never far from help.

Toki Tori is a puzzle platformer iPhone game where you control the actions of a chick across 80 engrossing levels. The goal of each level is for Toki Tori to free Toki Tori’s siblings who have been mysteriously kidnapped. Interesting storyline. And the best about this game is that the developers behind this game are offering 80% discount for limited period.

Toki Toki is originally priced at $4.99 [App Store] and is now available for $0.99. There is a free, lite version of the game [App Store] also exists.

Toucharcade had reviewed Toki Tori sometime back and found it to be  a wonderfully challenging puzzle game and had highly recommended it. Check this video:

Developed by MoreGames Entertainment and published by Chillingo, this game brings StickWars and Pocket God in one game. Been very popular amongst iPhone gamers of late. Kittu from our forum has shared his experience playing this interesting game. Check it out:

Knights Onrush - Review
Reviewed by Kittu Dhanoa
Price: $4.99 - Was on Salet: $0.99. Its still available for $2.99
Genre: Tower Castle Defence , Action

Get it Here - Full Version | Lite Version

Hi Guys. Bought this game yesterday, after checking out the lite version first, and liked what I saw err played. Game’s on sale right now and so I just  couldn’t resist the temptation.
My first impression of the Game: Its the ‘Pocket God’ upgraded - Seems as if the pocket gods have finally got a purpose to torture somebody besides the harmless & peaceful pygmies. However, my friend & fellow forum member ‘Vikas’ seems to think its the ‘Stick Wars’ Upgraded - with cute animation & graphics.
Whatever may be the case, its certainly a fresh take on tower/castle defence genre games. Personally, I dont like any of the tower defense games including the hugely popular ‘Field Runners’ - I just never did not see any point in deploying all those guns etc etc and then wait a watch the field runner army walk in and …. wait and see.
So, why did I pick up this game? I got taken in by the cute graphic screen shots. And when I tried out the lite version , I got hooked. Knights Onrush is a fantastic game & ‘chillingo’ has certainly proved just how nicely ‘castle defense’ genre can be done.

was launched yesterday and looks like the whole iPhone world is going GAGA over this game. Developed by id Software, this game is the iPhone version of the original Doom game. Coming to this review, usually Kittu Dhanoa from our forum does a detailed review of interesting games that get launched on App Store. Hey, I would like to thank Kittu for these awesome reviews. Kittu will be reviewing this game very soon. In the meanwhile, Vikas, another dedicated member of our forum has just written an awesome and casual review about . Thanks buddy :). Check it out:

In one simple word the game is Fan-DOOM-Tastic. Ok that wasnt one word. But pretty much sums up the marvelous game. Id has done 100% justice to the series. There couldnt be anything more I could ask from an iPhone port of doom(ok maybe multiplayer and those half clad girls in the original game Grin). I was skeptical about the game as I hadnt read anything about the control scheme. In fact I had assumed it`ll be using an onscreen D-Pad/joystics like the rest of FPS games on iPhone. I hate these d-pads on any iPhone game but still play them as there is no option other than not getting the game in the first place(which is is not really an option either as so many great games are coming out for iPhone. Cant resist at all).

Doom Resurrection finally makes it to the iPhone

1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)

id Software has finally released the original Doom on iPhone. Its called [$9.99, App Store]. This looks just like Doom 3 game and offers a first person shooting experience. TouchArcade had reviewed this app sometime back:

The best compliment I can offer to is that despite some controversial changes, it “feels” like Doom and is a lot of fun. And as a reviewer, there are games I have to play to the end and games I want to play to the end, and easily fell in the latter category. The game makes good use of the Doom 3 graphics and audio to provide an immersive game that sucks you in for the duration.

Features
• An all-new chapter of the DOOM saga designed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch
• Advanced graphics engine designed from the ground up to take full advantage of the power found in Apple’s mobile devices
• Wield an arsenal of heavy-hitting weapons to defeat a variety of hideous monsters and bosses
• Innovative controls for fast-paced and accessible first-person action
• Intense story that new players and long-time DOOM fans can enjoy

birdfeed2 Another Simple, Fast & Intelligent Twitter Client For iPhone BirdfeedThe newly launched Twitter client for iPhone Birdfeed [$4.99, App Store] seems to be a perfect mix of speed and simplicity. Developed by System of Touch, Birdfeed might be a bit expensive, but Techcrunch has something interesting to say:

Birdfeed has only been available for one day, so it’s too early to declare it the new de-facto iPhone Twitter client. But I will say that it’s closer than any other app has ever been to dethroning Tweetie, in my mind. It’s so good that I’ve already moved it onto my first page of apps on the iPhone, just to make sure it gets a fair shake against Tweetie. We’ll see what I’m still using in a week, but I suspect is may just be Birdfeed.
