This cool fitness app called Fitnio is somewhat similar to RunKeeper app, helps you track your workout progress both in the gym and outdoors. But it comes with one cool feature allowing you to browse your iPod playlists and queue one for the next time you start jogging. TechCrunch covered this app and had this to say:
Until the release of the iPhone 3.0 software update, developers were unable to access the phone’s music library. In order to play music as you ran, you’d have to first open up the phone’s iPod application, pick a playlist, then switch over to the excercise app. Once there, you could use your headphone’s multifunction button to execute some basic commands (next song, pause, and previous song), but if you wanted to switch playlists you were out of luck.
Fitnio displays the same data as a treadmill or stationary bike … outside the gym! Now you can run, walk, jog or cycle anywhere! Fitnio integrates with the iPhone’s GPS technology to give you real-time, accurate fitness feedback. Fitnio automatically calculates and displays your distance, speed, pace and calories burned. Start and stop immediately with Fitnio’s quick start and cool down options. Program an emergency contact so you’re never far from help.
This video is awesome looking. When I saw this first, I couldnt believe that it might have been shot entirely on an iPhone 3GS. The music videoLove Love Love is by Reyna Perez. Directed by Ari Kuschnir; for more on Reyna check out her facebook page:
Reyna was born in Miami, FL in the golden year of 1983, the descendant of Jewish Cuban settlers who founded Cuba’s first synagogue. As would any child with an illustrious path, she developed a passion for musicals, a mild obsession for Barbara Streisand, and an affinity for the soundtrack of Fiddler on the Roof…
Toki Tori is a puzzle platformer iPhone game where you control the actions of a chick across 80 engrossing levels. The goal of each level is for Toki Tori to free Toki Tori’s siblings who have been mysteriously kidnapped. Interesting storyline. And the best about this game is that the developers behind this game are offering 80% discount for limited period.
Toki Toki is originally priced at $4.99 [App Store] and is now available for $0.99. There is a free, lite version of the game [App Store] also exists.
Toucharcade had reviewed Toki Tori sometime back and found it to be a wonderfully challenging puzzle game and had highly recommended it. Check this video:
I am sure most of us use Google calendar. And if you are also an iPhone addict, you got to check this cool calendar feature that has come with 3.0 OS. iPhone calendar now supports CalDAV with SSL and this enables you to sync Google calendar with iPhone or iPod Touch. Want to thank iPhonedownloadblog for this tip:
Here is how to set up your iPhone or iPod Touch to sync calendars with Google over the air:
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CalDAV Account
For the CalDAV settings, enter the above information: Server - www.google.com; User Name - your gmail username; Password - ***. Note that your username should be the email address you use to access your Google calendar as well as the password.
Then tap “Next” and it should verify your information.
If you can’t get your account verified, tap “Advanced settings” and make sure that “Use SSL” is On, that the port is 443, and that your Account URL includes the sign “@” in your email address.
So you have been dreaming of developing the No.1 iPhone app. Did you know that it will cost $1,875 a day, according to Adwhirl, which aggregates ad networks to help publishers monetize their apps on the iPhone. Adwhirl has another suggestion:
Develop a free iPhone app that will generate a large user base, and then leverage those users it to drive traffic to your paid app. The idea is not super original. Game companies commonly offer free versions to get people hooked in hopes of converting them over to paying customers. However, Adwhirl does a good job of explaining why.
Today BNET announced that Nokia has lost its overall market share leadership in the worldwide smartphone segment to Apple, based on browser calls for mobile ads. AdMob revealed this pdf report stating that Apple smartphones received 49 percent of ad traffic in May, compared with 32 percent for Nokia.
App developers couldn’t be happier with Apple’s frictionless system and huge customer base, which of course feeds a virtuous cycle of more apps for the App Store leading to more customers for Apple’s iPhone. William Volk, CEO of entertainment and business apps vendor PlayScreen, said on a professional forum posting that “Apple had the advantage of the years of experience with iTunes and their iPods PLUS their own acceptable billing solution and that has served them well.” PlayScreen makes apps for Android and the Symbian S60, and is preparing over 25 apps for the Pre.
Facebook announced a host of new features and updates for their iPhone client app. Here is the official press release from Facebook - I can’t predict an exact date when I will submit to Apple, but I can say that I am about 98% done.
