Bad news for for you new iPhone 4 buyers who have been looking for a jailbreak solution. The iPhone Dev Team has announced that there will be no jailbreak for iOS 4.0.2 running on iPhone or 3.2.2 running on iPad. Over to their blog post.

Now it’s a few weeks later, and Apple has closed the jailbreakme.com hole. They’re shipping devices with FW 4.0.2/3.2.2, impervious to this particular jailbreak. So now, people will begin to ask: will there be a jailbreak for devices that shipped with 4.0.2/3.2.2, out of the box?

No, there won’t be. FW 4.0.2/3.2.2 was *only* released to fix the jailbreakme hole. With FW 4.1 still in its beta stages, it makes no sense to escalate the “cat & mouse” with Apple for FW updates that only fix the jailbreak holes. To quote WOPR, “the only winning move is not to play”.

So if you are running on iOS 4.0.2, you will have to wait for 4.1 which iPhone Dev Team might think of jailbreaking.

Found this game gravity game a few hours back. Very interesting, go for it. FAYJU BALL uses real world gravity in a multi-level 3D physics puzzle game. roll the balls into the correct holes. If the wrong one goes in, don’t worry just turn your phone upside down and they will fall out. Available on App Store for Free, here is the App Store link.

Reviews:

“Like many other games in the App Store, Fayju Ball has you tilting your phone to try to get the ball(s) into the proper spots. This game, however, stands out in its use of puzzle elements as well as the 3D physics involved.” – toucharcade.com

CultofMac has this interesting post that will bring smiles to iPhone 3G owners who are running iOS 4. Here is what they had to say just a while back - In addition to Steve Jobs’ recently publicized email claiming a software update coming soon to fix the problems, the Blogosphere and Twitter are also carrying reports of big performance improvements with recent betas:

Tests with a beta version of Apple’s iOS 4.1 on a well-used 3G suggest that the new OS has increased the phone’s responsiveness. Indeed, apps load much more quickly, text entry is much smoother and the phone no longer slows down beyond the point of usability when more than one browser window is open. [The Next Web]

These have been among the most widely reported problems.

Tests conducted with the new beta version of iOS4.1 reveal that the phone’s responsiveness has actually improved! Apps can be downloaded faster, text can be entered more smoothly and the phone does not slow down when you open multiple browser windows. [Blogote]

Apple’s upcoming Media Event scheduled for early September would be a logical time to release this upgrade; some blogs are even reporting that it may come as soon as this week.

Several posts on Twitter also mention improvements:

jasondelacruz: I heard from a beta tester today that iOS 4.1 brings a huge performance improvement for iPhone 3g. Hang tight.

machelpblog: Beat [sic] testing iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 3G has been a great speed improvement. #iphone Thank you Apple!!!!
