3G iPhone Feature list - Launching on 11th July :(

3G iPhone is now going to be launched on the 11th of July. It looks awesome and has great new features. But I had sold my iPhone few days ago and was expecting 3G to be launched today. Not very happy about this :(. But lets forget that, let me know briefly put together list of top features of 3G iPhone along with few exclusive images of this awesome gadget:

Features

• 3G-capable. 2.8 times faster than EDGE.
• Simultaneous voice and data conections
• Microsoft Exchange AcctiveSync
• GPS built-in
• Better battery life - 300 hours of standby, Talk-time 10 hours (as opposed to 5) on 2G networks, 5 hours of 3G talk-time (competition is 3 hour 3G talk time), 5 to 6 hours of high-speed browsing, 7 hours of video, 24 hours of audio.
• Flush headphone jack

Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 3G will be available July 11th in 22 countries for $199 for 8 GB and $299 for 16 GB. The 16 GB model also comes in white. Apple has posted details on their website, but it is currently overwhelmed.

This might come true. FT has recently covered an article saying that Apple might has bowed to pressure from mobile phone operators and agreed they can subsidise the latest iPhone. If this comes true $200 3G iPhone might become a reality. Here is what FT has to say:

Apple has bowed to pressure from mobile phone operators and agreed they can subsidise the latest iPhone, expected to be unveiled by Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive, on Monday. Analysts said AT&T, the US mobile operator selling the iPhone, could provide a $200 subsidy on the handset, enabling it to go on sale to consumers for $200 or less. The first version costs US consumers $399 because there is no subsidy.
Apple has also forgone a portion of the monthly revenue paid to the operators by iPhone users, said people close to the situation.

This may definitely help Apple to break the 10million mark before the end of this year.

Yes, Engadget has published the unboxed picture of the new 3G iPhone. But at the same time they say that it might be fake. Not too sure. Looks like its fake.

These set of photos have been leaked by MacRumors and arn on MacRumors forum. These pixs look amazing and definitely very real. I am going for the black one. Red seems to be too girlish I feel. But this is awesome. There is a front camera as well for video chat. Waiting for this Monday like anything. Thanks MacRumors for these images. Can you imagine, just a few rumors about delay on launch date of 3G version has caused Apple share to slide. WOW this is crazy. It was earlier expected that 3G would be lauched on the 9th of June, but according to this news, romors claim that 3G might be delayed a bit. Here is the excerpts:

“There’s not been a product announcement. There hasn’t been any pricing decisions made. That’s yet to come,” Lindner told the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York. He said AT&T has more than 2.5 million current iPhone customers, with the average subscribers spending nearly $100 a month on service.

Infineon 3G chip being used in iPhone - Confirmed

The new 3G iPhone will be using the Infineon 3G chip to power the 3G features of iPhone. Just got confirmed. Here is what Digitimes.com has to say - United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) will be the foundry to produce Infineon Technologies’ 3G baseband chip, which will be used in the new Apple iPhone that supports 3G, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

The baseband chip (PMB8878) will be fabricated on UMC’s 65nm process node. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) was the foundry partner for Infineon for the baseband chip used in the first-generation iPhone, the paper noted.
