If you have been waiting or iPhone to come up with cut-paste feature anytime soon; wait no more, cos MagicPad is here. MagicPad is a native app which makes copy and past a reality on the iPhone. Its basically an improved format of Notes app. TechCrunch has more info on this:
MagicPad isn’t going to bring true Copy-and-Paste to the iPhone, as there will be no way to copy text between applications (say, from Safari to the Mail client). You’ll be able to copy and paste between multiple notes within MagicPad, which will make it a step up from Notes, but in reality it serves as more of a proof of concept than a solution.
Tap and drag across text to copy it, and then paste it within the document or to a brand new note.
Create Rich Text Documents
Choose from 6 different font styles, 5 different sizes, and 8 unique colors. Add bold, italics, underline, and strikethrough effects to make your documents standout.
Email Your Documents
Send your rich text documents to anyone via e-mail.
This might just happen. AppleInsider has posted a bit of an insight on possible cut-paste function that might be present in the ‘Localizable.strings’ file located in ‘System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/WebKit.framework’. This might sound too technical for most of us. But if these guys are to be believed, this most sought after feature in iPhone might come true with the 2.1 firmware release in the near future. Here is what AppleInsider has to say:
One developer burning the midnight oil has stumbled upon references to copy and paste in the frameworks of Apple’s first beta of iPhone Software 2.1, potentially offering new hope for one of the most requested and conspicuously absent features of the company’s mobile software.
Macrumors has been buzzing with fresh rumors about 1.1.4 firmware and cut-paste feature coming on iPhone very soon. Here is what Macrumors.com has to say:
As we approach to the rumored late-February Apple event, trinkets of information regarding the next iPhone firmware are continuing to trickle in.
The latest but possibly most questionable rumor comes from HardMac/MacBidouille. The site posts an unconfirmed tip from an Orange Representative, who claimed the next firmware (v2.0) would bring Flash support (rumored), .Docx support, a file manager, copy/paste support (rumored for 1.1.3), more mature BlueTooth device management, and SMS via WiFi. HardMac has had a less than stellarrumor record. In this case, HardMac warns readers that this rumor is unconfirmed at this time.
