After installing so many applications and games on a jailbroken , we find that the phone isn’t functioning the way it should be. Issues with speed of the phone, crashing without any reason, speakers not working etc. starts cropping up.

I faced similar problem and at the end I wanted to restore my to the factory settings. My ’s baseband firmware was v1.1.1 and I wanted to restore it back to that baseband. But iTunes wouldn’t allow me to do that. The new firmware 1.1.2 had released and everytime I hit restore in iTunes, it was trying to upgrade the baseband to 1.1.2. I just hated that.

I found a way around this and finally restored it back to 1.1.1. Here is how I did it:

  1. Go to http://.unlock.no and download v.1.1.1 firmware. Its around 160mb. Store it on your desktop. (you can also download any other firmware from this website, the procedure to restore to fatory setting will remain the same.)
  2. Turn off the - Hold down the Sleep/Wake (Top) button for more than 10 seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your is already off.

  5. Hold it for another 5-10 seconds, you will then see a USB cord and iTunes picture (see below) on . Release the home button.

  6. iTunes will then popup on your computer and you will get an option to restore the . iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an in recovery mode. Click OK.
  7. Don’t hit restore button or else it will installed the latest firmware version.
  8. Hold shift key on your keyboard (option button if you are using Mac) and then hit Restore button in iTunes.
  9. A browse window will popup. Choose the downloaded fireware 1.1.1 which you saved on your desktop.
  10. You will be restored back to factory setting. :)
  11. You will have unlock this phone again by going to http://.unlock.no. Once unlocked, hack the Simcard by installing AnySim app from installer.app.
  12. Your is all set now.

If you are still facing any issues, please feel free to comment and I will get back asap.
