Funky Punch is a fighting game available on App Store and has opened a new genre of gaming on iPhone. Pretty interesting interesting game, says Touch Arcade, one of the popular iPhone AppStore review website. Here is a brief rewiev of this game on Touch Arcade:
The game is a reasonably straightforward 3D fighting game which uses on screen buttons to control the action. While I’ve been quite critical of touch screen buttons in the past, their use in Funky Punch seems natural and does not detract from the gameplay. While unrecognized presses still occur, due to the constantly changing circumstances during a fight, one missed move isn’t a game-ending event like it can be in other genres.
So if you think the video above seems to be interesting, go for this game asap. Cos the developers of this game are offering a discount on $7.99 orginal price and will be available for $3.99 during the Labor Day weekend. The discounted pricing will end on September 3rd. So hurry.
One of the most promising board games on iPhone ‘Pool’ has been updated to 2.0 and has few great features. For those who haven’t heard about this game, here is a brief update - Pool for the iPhone is a native Pocket Billiard game to run on Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
Free version of the game has some restrictions: - Allowed only 7 games a day (Two-player and vs. Computer modes) - Save/Load option is disabled - Match length is fixed to 1.

Demiforce has come up with one the most interesting arcade games (Bejewelled kinds) - Trism. This is awesome stuff. Right now its just the Demo which is available through installer.app download tab. Add modmyifone.com/installer.xml to you repository and you will able to download this game.
The full version is due for release with SDK. The demo is free, the full version will be $4.99. This game also uses accelerometer to make the game even more mind blowing. You got to try this out…

Games like Quake 3 are hitting the iPhone platform. It is particularly cool to see the accelerometers being used to control the action. Bonus points for controlling 2 players at once.
I guess the gaming world will change like crazy post June 2008. This article on Wired gives some insight on what its going to be like - Gameloft CEO and president Michel Guillemot wasn’t joking about that mobile gaming renaissance he mentioned during his Game Developer Conference keynote. On Monday, Gameloft announced it will produce no less than 15 new native titles for the iPhone this year, making it the fourth major developer to publicly embrace the iPhone as a gaming platform.Echoing remarks he made during last month’s GDC, Guillemot said that the iPhone gaming environment will usher in “a new era in mobile gaming,” adding that Apple’s new SDK offers a tremendous opportunity for the company.
According to Guillemot, Gameloft developers have already started using Apple’s software development kit to produce a series of new titles, some of which should be available when the App Store launches in June.

Hi, I have been using this awesome invention called the Apple iPhone from November 2007 and have gone nutzzz over it. Nuts to an extent that I started this blog which talks just about iPhone and nothing else.
