Apple has upgraded its iTunes to 7.7 and launched AppStore formally just a while back. Please update your iTunes now and you will fine 7.7 version.

Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.

There is a mention of remote controlling iTunes music through iPhone in the pre-release installation steps of iTunes 7.7 as per Macrumors. This is a great news because even though there were third part native apps which were doing the same through wifi, this one would be prebuild into the firmware making life simpler. Here is what the Read Me during the installation of iTunes say:

Macrumors confirms on its article stating “Apple has seeded a pre-release of iTunes 7.7 as well as a new version of the iPhone 2.0 Firmware”. Here are few new features of iTunes 7.7.
- MobileMe Support - “Use MobileMe to have push email, push calendars, push contacts, and bookmarks delivered over the air to your iPhone.”
- “Applications” in iTunes Sync with the option to sync “All” or “selected” applications.
