Fetch/push emails not working post 2.1 update?
Posted on 2008 under Firmware Versions, Software Fixes | No CommentI though I was the only one who was facing this fetch email issue. And when I checked these 2 threads on Apple iPhone’s discussion forum, I was convinced that I wasnt the only one. I guess we will have to wait for Apple to get rid of this bug with their next firmware update. Let me now briefly share a few messages on these two threads (1, 2).
- Mail fetch/push does not work. By that I mean, will not get mail on schedule.
I have Gmail, ME, 1 IMAP and 1 POP account.
If the phone is plugged into the wall outlet (charging) it will execute its schedule.
Otherwise the phone does not get mail unless I do it manually. - The Gmail account will not Push, the IMAP can if it is an Exchange server or Yahoo, and the POP will not Push. Set your iPhone to fetch every 15 minutes and see what happens.
- Its not doing what its supposed to be doing regardless of account type.
IMAP/POP, Fetch or Push.
[via - iPhone discussion 1] - Just curious if anyone is still having problems with pop mail fetching after the 2.1 update. I still have long stretches of time where no e-mail is received, and then when I manually fetch mail, I get the spinning wheel and connecting until I exit mail. Sometimes I can get mail after just closing mail, and other times, I have to do a soft reset.
- I have the same problem. No fetch on gmail at any interval. Only if i open mail, mails arrives.
- I have a solution for you all. read this tread email is one of the things that you can sync.

For some customers, the lack of a more public and comprehensive recognition is pushing them to consider other smartphones that don’t suffer the same e-mail issues.
