Here are my list of top 10 3rd Party Native Apps I can’t live without. I used these apps almost every 3-4 times everyday. By the way I am on 1.1.4 JB version.

These 3 Native apps bring in a lease of freshness in our springboards. Check it out:

1. SpringDial 0.998b
   SpringDial allows you to add a photo speed dial to your SpringBoard. When you open the app you will get a list of all your contacts. If you have more than one number for a contact it will list each number separately for that contact…just tap on the contact (and their number) you would like to add to your SpringBoard.
   To add SpringDial - Launch Installer.app and hit Productivity tab.

2. TimeCapsule
   This application allows you to backup data and restore it at a later time. You can find this app in Installer from the under the Utilities category. Once installed, you can find the app on your springboard. Open it and a popup will give you the option to donate, select cancel or you can move right on to the ap. To back it up, tap Installer from the list, you will then be at a blank screen, tap backup to save the data…then you will see an entry and timestamp for this date and time. At a later time you can go back and restore this data to how it was at the time it was backed up.
   To add TimeCapsule - Launch Installer.app, go to sources and add “repo.databinge.com” and  then hit Utilities tab.

3. Insomnia
   Insomnia, when enabled, will prevent the iPhone from sleeping, thus overriding its default behaviour. This allows background applications to continue to run and WiFi to work long after the screen has been switched off.
   (The iPhone’s default behaviour is to sleep 30 seconds after the screen has gone off, when not docked and charging that is).
   To add Insomnia- Launch Installer.app, and hit Utilities tab.

I am sure we all have heard about i-Ano, the iPhone Piano which showed up in our installer.app a few weeks back. Man, that was just the best thing that happened to all we instrument lovers. A fully functional piano on iPhone. The guys behind iAno have revamped their website and are now know as Moo-Cow-Music. These guys have launched 3 Native Apps - Guitarist, Drummer and a Pianist.

Features

• A complete guitar fretboard (including open strings) to the 15th fret.
• Multi-touch. Up to 5 notes can be played at once.
• Each note is a separately recorded sample, for maximum quality.
• Animated strings press down at your touch for visual feedback.
• Acoustic guitar patch included, with more options available in a later release.
• Play along to all your MP3s, or your friends using Pianist or Drummer.
• On-screen keyboard navigation allows you to easily move up and down the fretboard.

How to install

• First you need to jailbreak your iPhone to allow third-party applications to be installed.
• If it is not already there, add the “ModMyiFone.com” repository to your Installer.
  • Click on the Installer Icon.
  • Click on the “Sources” icon at the bottom.
  • Click “Edit”.
  • Click “Add”.
  • Enter: “http://modmyifone.com/installer.xml“.
  • Click “OK”.
• Guitarist will appear under the “Toys” section of installer.

Now that I am on 1.1.4 firmware, I realise that there are quite a few apps that are not working on 1.1.4 or 1.1.3. So I have gone ahead and added a new section called “Top Native Apps with Version Compatibility“. I am going to put up all Native Apps that has been released till date and a “compatibility matrix” along with each native app which will primarily display supported firmware versions of iPhone.

As of now this list is not complete. In coming days I will make sure that all native apps are updated with its source website and instructions to add it to the springboard along with the compatible versions supporting that app.
