iRinger is one of the most downloaded free iPhone ringtones converter and maker, and if you are looking to convert your favorite track into an iPhone ringtone, look no further. This iPhone ringtone creator program works with all versions of iPhones including 3GS. Its meant to work with Windows, but there is a workaround for Mac users as well.
You will be able to create iPhone ringtones from any music or video file you have in your collection, including YouTube videos. iRinger exports ringtones directly to iTunes, therefore you dont have to “jailbreak” your iPhone.
Download iRinger:
Runs on all versions of Microsoft Windows including Vista and 7
This is the easiest way to add FREE Ringtones to your iPhone. Let me also mention at this point that its perfectly normal to add any ‘.m4r’ formatted ringtone to iPhone. You will not lose your warranty nor you would be asked to jailbreak your iPhone. Its fully legal to download ringtones and add it to iTunes ringtone folder and then sync it!!!
Coming to the Easiest Way to find and install iPhone ringtones:
Click on the ringtone you like and download the iPhone version ringtone
Start iTunes > drag and drop that ringtone into the ‘Ringtone’ folder
Sync your iPhone.
You are done
You can also create your own ringtones. To do that go to audiko.net/en.html and register > Upload your music > select your fav part of the track > download that part as a ringtone.
Note: You don’t have to jailbreak your iPhone for this to work.
You could do this with earlier versions of iTunes 7.6.x and 7.7.x as well. But then, Apple stopped this feature with later iTunes versions. This might have been done to boose Ringtones sales.
Now you can again create custom ringtones from your DRM free songs that is present in your iTunes library anytime. For this to work, you don’t even have to jailbreak iPhone. Its absolutely safe. I created a few ringtones using this shortcut last evening and the ringtones are ringing absolutely fine.
Here is how to Create Custom iPhone Free Ringtones using nothing but iTunes:
Note: This method only works with songs that are DRM free.
Open iTunes > Click on the song you want to convert to a ringtone > Right click on the song and hit “Get Info.”
Go to the “options” tab and go down to the “Start Time” and “Stop Time” check boxes. Check both boxes and input the time you want your ringer to start/stop. The ringer has to be 30 seconds or less. Click OK when you’re done.
Right click on your newly “clipped” song and select “Convert Selection to AAC.” The song will be re-encoded using the start and stop times determined.
After the song is done encoding navigate to your iTunes Music folder and locate your song (it will be in the iTunes > iTunes Music folder.
Change the extension of that ringtone from .m4a to .m4r (tutorial on changing extensions, windows – mac)
After the extension is changed simply double click on the file to add it to your iTunes library under the ringtones section. Sync your phone with iTunes and you’re done! Note: Remember to go back into iTunes and uncheck your custom start and stop times for the original version of your song.
Plugging in custom ringtones was always an issue with continuously updating iTunes. Apple always tries to make it real difficult to create custom ringtones using iTunes. If this was made easy, the $2 ringtone on iTunes Stores might just go out of business. But someone or the other, works some technique around this iTunes song cropping freature allowing custom ringtone possible for iPhone. And this time its theappleblog. Here is how to create Custom iPhone Free Ringtones using only iTunes. Thanks ‘theappleblog’ to share incredible idea:
Note: (This method only works with songs that are DRM free. To create ringtones using DRM protected songs please use this method). This method has been tested and works with iTunes 7.7.1 and iPhone 2.0.1 firmware.

(or some other format) please go to iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > Importing and change the “Import Using” drop down menu to “AAC Encoder”).
After the song is done encoding navigate to your iTunes Music folder, locate your song, and drag it to your desktop. After the song is on your desktop go back to iTunes and delete the clipped version from you iTunes library (It won’t delete it from your desktop, it will only remove it from iTunes).

Hey, I was looking for custom ringtones and found this easy way to create ringtones for iPhone and that too within iTunes. Works like a charm. Try it out:
Note that you will have to have 1.1.2 firmware on your iPhone. For some reason it doesn’t work with v.1.1.1.
Click on iTunes – Library
Click the song you’d like to edit
Locate the start and end times of the selection you want. To do this, move the iTunes playback head (at the top of iTunes) to the start of the selection and note the start time. Then move the playback head to the end of the selection and note the end (stop) time
Click on File – Get Info – Options
Click on Start Time and enter the start time you noted
Click on Stop Time and enter the end time you noted
Click on OK
Click on iTunes – Preferences – Importing
In Import Using, click on AAC Encoder
Click on OK
Click on iTunes – Advanced – Convert Selection to AAC
Right click the new AAC track and choose to find in on your computer
Rename the new AAC track as a .m4r
Double click the new .m4r which will open up into the ringtones section of iTunes
Sync new ringtone to iphone
Easy enough, all you need is iTunes to get ringtones on your iphone .
