Quick Update: I got the final confirmation. I am going to block White iPhone 4 32GB now by depositing Rs.5,000. Leaving now… It will be officially launched across India this Friday, 27th May 2011. Will be the first to pick it up at 7.00 am .

The Airtel Relationship Center, Koramangala just confirmed this news. Go block your iPhone 4 guys, especially if you are looking for the White one, cos thats the one which will be high demand and will get exhausted pretty soon.

Now that the May 12th rumor has been busted, lets look further. FYI, there was a strong rumor going around which suggested that iPhone 4 will finally launch in India on the 12th May, and that too factory unlocked. But one thing is for sure, Apple will release iPhone 4 in India before this month end, that is May 2011. These phones would most probably be released not only through Airtel and Aircel but also via iMagine and iStores in India. HomeShop18.com has already started taking pre-orders for Rs.34,200 for a 16gig iPhone 4 – here is that article that I had covered last week. Looks like Apple is willing to sell iPhone 4 at a subsidized rate this time in India. Thats a big relief.

This morning BGR covered this interesting article on iPhone 4 launch in India. If Apple thinks further in a more creative way as to how to blow up Indian mobile market which is growing like crazy (just like the Chinese market), Apple will beat the Samsung, Nokia and HTCs black and blue even in Indian marktet. Indian mobile market is very price sensitive and Apple brings some contract based plans with some subsidy, they could surely do it. Lets hope for the best this time around. Here is what BGR had to say:

I have been hearing things like “You’d be surprised” and “You will be shocked when you hear the price points.” At the moment, we know that the iPhone 4 will be sold factory unlocked. How about a “reverse subsidy” model? In this model, rather than subsidizing the cost of the phone, a buyer is required to pay the full amount upfront. However, for making that commitment, the carrier pays back the subscriber every month. Think of it as an EMI. In case of a post-paid subscriber, it could be a flat discount on his monthly bill spread over two years. Depending on the usage, the subscriber could literally get the phone for free if he stays with the carrier (in this case, Aircel or Airtel) long enough. Or in case of pre-paid, it could be a package of free calling minutes, text messages and data.

Pretty interesting idea BGR, reverse subsidy model might work. Lets wait and watch, and see if Airtel or Aircel find this stuff interesting. Anyways, something that would be real cool would be having White iPhone 4 available on day 1 in Indian stores.

Quick Update: Good news for all your iPhone followers from India. iPhone 4 is finally available on Homeshop18.com on Pre-order for Rs.34,200 (16GB) and Rs.40200 (32GB). Shipping charges is just Rs.40. Looks like Apple is getting more and more friendlier with Indians. It will take 20 days to deliver iPhone 4 to any location in India, FYI.

The latest rumor has started making rounds just a while back, which says Airtel and Aircel will have iPhone 4 (including white version) in their stores by as early as 2nd week of May 2011, which is by next week max. Cooool.

AppleInsider shared this teardown of the white iPhone 4 caught this weekend which shows white iPhone 4 has been changed on the inside to accommodate the new white color. MacOtakara found that the camera senson is more deeply recessed than on the black version and the proximity sensor has also been modified slightly beyond just the visibly changed cut-out on the outside. Just last week, I covered a news from 9to5Mac that the white iPhone 4 was also shown to be thicker.

Early teardown images of Apple’s white iPhone 4 appear to show a more recessed rear-facing camera lens and a slightly modified proximity sensor. After a 10-month delay, Apple launched the white iPhone 4 around the world last week. As noted by Japanese Apple blog MacOtakara (via Google Translate), teardown photos of the white iPhone 4 suggest that Apple has changed both the camera lens and proximity sensor on the white version of its bestselling smartphone.

This is no big deal 9to5Mac has just shared this crazy info about the white iPhone 4. The plastic on the white iPhone is slightly thicker. But its just 2 microns, even previously build cases would fit just fine.

Apple updated its store just a while back. White iPhone 4 finally will be available from tomorrow. Along with US, the white iPhone 4 would debut in the following countries including Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and UK.

India is no where in the scene, sad. But hopefully the news from Airtel comes true. Aircel and Airtel had earlier confirmed that they are bringing iPhone 4 to India in the month of May. If this comes true, iPhone 4 16GB will cost around Rs.36,000 and 32GB will cost around Rs.41,000

Engadget has finally managed to get few images of 16GB white iPhone in the UK - we’ve secured a few images of a 16GB model from a separate source that has seemingly made its way into the hands of one lucky customer (read: bloke) over in Britain.

And then 9to5Mac got a few exclusive news too – A tipster at Netherlands phone retailer BelCompany sent us the above picture of a company memo, detailing a Wednesday, April 27th launch for the white iPhone 4.

This Wednesday, all retail stores will receive the white T-Mobile iPhone 4 16 GB. Also, a limited number of retail stores will receive one single white iPhone 4 32 GB. New supplies will be scarce/very limited. If the supply is exhausted/sold out, inform the customer that new deliveries are expected in 4 to 5 weeks time.

According to iPhoneClub in the Netherlands, Apple and carriers are set to launch the white version of the iPhone 4 on Wednesday, April 27th. The information is said to come from an internal memo distributed to employees within a phone store called BelCompany in the Netherlands. The white iPhone 4 is said to be initially available with a contract through T-Mobile in the Netherlands.

Quick Update: Macrumors confirmed this as well – multiple sources pegging the release of white iPhone 4 on the 26April, and now iPhoneItalia reports that April 26th will be the day.

Bloomberg has shared 3 people familiar with the plans who say the white iPhone 4 will begin shipping by next 2 weeks or so, that is end of April in the US. The white iPhone will be available from both AT&T and Verizon.

Adding a white model may help spur demand as Apple works on the next generation of its top-selling product. Apple, the world’s largest technology company by market value, isn’t planning to unveil a new iPhone at its June developers’ conference, breaking with its practice in past years, two people familiar with the matter said. Bloomberg’s sources echo what Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller said earlier this year — that the white iPhone 4 was still coming and it would be released sometime in the spring. Looks like White iPhones will finally be coming to US and Canada via Best Buy  stores and Bell Canada stores respectively. Engadget has shared this image that was taken from Best Buy shelf tag in Houston where it says White iPhone 4 with 16GB (AT&T version) will be on say for $599.99 without commitment. And Bell Canada is going to price White iPhone 4 16GB for $159.95 and 32GB version for $269.95.

No many of us know that the Apple’s White iPhone 4 delayed launch was due to iPhones light leakage issue. Now that White iPhone 4s are going to be launched soon, lets find out how this problem was solved. Earlier CultofMac had reported that the white iPhone 4 was delayed because the light leaks into the camera ruining photos, especially when the internal flash is on. This problem seems to have been fixed with a new kind of paid, reports Macotakara, a Japanese site.

Looks like White iPhone 4 will start appearing in US and UK stores very soon. These rare gadgets have turned up in the product listings on AT&T’s ordering systems alongsite listings for Bestbuy and Vodafone. And TiPB reports that UK carriers Orange and Three have also added listings for 16GB and 32GB white models to their catelogs.

UK operators Three and Orange are now listing the white iPhone 4 on their websites. AT&T’s online system is also now showing the white iPhone 4 in their OLAM (Online Account Management) system. This news comes hot on the heels of Best Buy and Vodafone Germany showing the white iPhone 4’s in their internal systems.

It looks like Best Buy isn’t the only retailer with white iPhones popping up in its system. AT&T is now showing two versions of Apple’s unicorn-colored iPhone. The entries appear in AT&T’s Online Account Management system (OLAM), and read as “iPhone 4 – 16GB White” and “iPhone 4 – 32GB White.” While the carrier’s online account tool obviously wouldn’t include any indication as far as when we might expect white iPhone 4 models to hit the store shelves, it’s looking like late February or early March at this point
